The D9858 receives PowerVu-secured DVB-S/DVB-S2 satellite feeds and transcodes MPEG-4 AVC HD content down to MPEG-2 (HD or SD) for distribution on legacy cable plants — the standard box for putting MPEG-4 satellite programming onto MPEG-2 CATV systems.
